Preventing homelessness requires more than providing housing—it requires preparing people for long-term success. The Beyond Us Collective/Villages at Peace addresses this through a phased restoration model that guides individuals and families from emergency response to stabilization, transitional living, workforce and financial readiness, and ultimately independent housing. By surrounding each person with coordinated wraparound services on one integrated campus, and advancing them through measurable milestones based on individual readiness rather than a predetermined timeline, we create personalized pathways that strengthen stability, reduce recidivism, and increase the likelihood of lasting housing success. Our goal is not simply to help people obtain housing—it is to help ensure they never have to experience homelessness again.

Government is an essential partner and contributor to the Villages at Peace initiative. The comprehensiveness of the Villages of Peace vision requires multi-sector engagement to ensure all the needs of clients and the community in an integrated approach that will sustain transformatioin long-term for generations. The Beyond Us Collective is a separate legal entity which will have its own governing body that is responsible for maintain the integrity, mission and vision for the Villages at Peace.

Beyond Us and the Villages at Peace is a private nonprofit. However, Dekalb County is looking at $33 increase to Property Taxes to fund its Housing initiatives including its support for this project.
